IN TOLERANCE

Let us all open our hearts more than we open our mouths. Let us all open our arms to embrace more and fight less. Let us all really do what we preach.
Let us all know the real meaning of 'us'...

Let us all thrive collectively in tolerance and shun all intolerance!

IN TOLERANCE

All faiths talk about tolerance...
about how God loves us all...
about the greatness in goodness...
about embracing one and all...

All followers appreciate those teachings...
in that goodness, they take such pride...
unaware how to actually follow...
they put all tolerance and love aside...

All faiths talk about tolerance!
All, faiths talk about: tolerance!
All faiths 'talk', about tolerance!
All 'we' do: talk!

JOKER

Are the ghosts of your past still haunting you? Are they preventing you to embrace your future?
Often we are so affected by our past that we are scared of our future. Some of us pretend to be happy hoping that if they would pretend long enough, they might actually become happy.

Time heals all, yes. But sometimes, to heal a wound you need to go through the pain of getting the stitches.

Do not be afraid of the pain. Not all pain is bad.

Whenever in life you wonder whether or not to take a chance, just close your eyes and imagine if the desired result is somehow obtained from that leap of faith, will the pain put in the effort be worth it?
If yes, then take a chance.

JOKER

Trapped within the mask of liberation
Unwary of his enslavement vile
Ceases to see through his mask
In circus for a long long while

"No more! no more! the show has ended.
Come home. Out of the mask, come.
Your skin ain't pale. No scarlet nose.
Your tent ain't your real home."

The joy of comfort, the notion of certainty
After one, the clock strikes two
Scared to see it any other way
Behind the mask, scared of new

Juggling fruits of past that lingers
Forgotten fruits that future may,
Sad joker in his happy mask
Unwary, juggles his life away.

ANGRY COAL

How emotions blinden!

It is said that should you make a decision in the flow of a strong emotion, you are bound to make mistakes. Of all such emotions, one must beware of anger. Anger is a short lived and highly destructive emotion. It blindens our sight and kills all logic....

ANGRY COAL

Dark days dark, in darkness spread
Torches treacherous cast signs ahead
Tread, tread slow, carefully tread
For the dark hide pits, dug deep, ahead
A passage so long, longer than night
Meandering around turns wrong and right
Creepers creep up, as creepy trees fight
To glow ghastly in gory moonlight
They croak a warning? Or croak a trap
Of life unreal in a silver wrap?
But a poison comes in the sweetest wrap
In greenest grass, the meanest trap
When daisies grew on bowers sweet
And waters were clear and blue and neat
That summer is now as dark as peat
Charred sun, charred in its very heat
The angry coal glows blazing bright
Glows and dies without a fight
Dark day dark, with flaming night
Dark torches, dark, in darkness, plight

"FAIRY TALE"

"FAIRY TALE"

Fairy tales are born yet fairies fell
People preach of the seventh hell
"Innocent" death in an "honourable" fight
No body is wrong yet nothing is right
Blue faced despite a blue summer sky
Programmed to function and not to try
Hardbound wonder in piled up books
Rot gift-wrapped in glittering looks
Chop up trees yet yearn for rain
Speak of love yet talk such pain
Build up bombs to bring down towns
Wish for smiles yet learn but frowns
Fairy tales many but fairies none
Act like many yet speak of one
Each one a master in his own game
Kill the fairy no shame for fame

DE-ILLUSION

DE-ILLUSION

I know what I am thinking
is what I think I know.
In storms of grey ashen
and in pallid snow.
I am guided by warmth
of a stronger sun.
Or so I feel,
I won! I won!

At times I trod.
Trot trot I go.
Snow cold feet
press cold, cold snow.
So numb, so painless,
do I not feel?
Or is there warmth
in this mindless zeal?

I know what I am thinking
is what I think I know.
Or am I even thinking?
Do I even know?
I am thinking I know not,
Not nothing perhaps.
Perhaps there is bliss
When ignorance claps.

INTRANSIGENCE

BAMBOO

He asked bamboo why it was so hollow and bamboo replied "I am full"
"With what? " he asked, curious.
"Full of potential of course! Can you fill that what is full already?"
He fell silent. Amazed. Stunned.
Is it's hollowness it's sadness? Or is it a strength? After all, only those who fall can bounce back. Resilience has its prerequisites ...

BAMBOO
Flutes made out of bamboo
Such lovely notes they play
In noise of world are oft smothered
Their tunes yet here to stay

They chop them down in forests
Brutal as they can be
Yet in their homes in crystal vase
A bamboo shoot they see

Saddened, 'now' it is 'hollow'
In hands of ingrates and brutes
Hollow bamboo makes more noise
And oft, melodious flutes

ARISE

ARISE
To be raised on fields where stars shine plenty
And a warm warm sun shines luke
Such delights of the world surpass the glitter
A glitter true wise rebuke
And bequeath unto all such love for love
Not love for "lovely things"
And teach their begetting about awe and wonder
Serenading through summer and spring
For matters not the colour green of leaves
Or of clouds the colour white
But how the sun sets them both afire
In the setting light, delight.
Arise into a morning new
Then bequeath how to 'arise'
That the world is built on bricks of wonder,
Surprise is the best surprise.

AWARE

AWARE

Wary not where I could reach
Aware alone that I must try
I know not how far I shall thus go
But aware I wish to fly

Unknown lay the threads of days
That shall weave into the future sky
I know not what colour the sky shall be
But aware I'll still yearn for high

Wary not when nights shall conquer
Or shall days be scorching sly
I know not how far I shall thus go
But aware that I do wish to fly

Unknown to all when rains may come
That shall quench the sands so dry
I know not how hot the times could burn
But I could tread if I do try

SOME SUMMER

SOME SUMMER

O! Sweet child of this summer fair
Come winters and you shall be lost in despair
For never one preaches that they follow
All knowledge is fake and wisdom hollow
Lest you know  the days from days
You wouldn't know what leaves, what stays
But when the test of time does teach
Sharps stab, it's hands, it does not preach.
Tick, and you walk on green green grass
Tock, and you've fallen flat, alas!
Sweet child, sweet, in your sweet sweet world
There is sweet love and a free free bird
But your imagination alone shall cage you
The stronger now, the more it shall enrage you
'Cause the ways of world, the blind men see.
Free men only fall. They cage birds free.
Some summer this summer of tranquil trance
A fairytale promising, of a moonlit dance.

The state called freedom

Freedom...
What is it?
Is it the transfer of power from the exotic to the indigenous?
Is it the victory of the oppressed over their oppressors so they can form their own rules and oppress themselves instead?
Is law the death of freedom or is it the gate keeper?
Are rules a necessary evil?
Does freedom also qualifies as the prerequisite for lawlessness?

Freedom to speech begets debates and freedom to think begets rebellions and though rebellions by the victors are heroic yet those who partake in failed rebellions are tagged traitors...

What is freedom, we must ask ourselves...
Is it the ability to confined ourselves within beautifully plastered walls? Or is it the ability to embrace the vastness of a world without boundaries?

What is freedom, we must ask ourselves...

And then, we must ask ourselves how free we really are...

Freedom is a state of mind.
Freedom is, at times, the paucity of thought, a belief.

NIGHT

How gloomy is contrition? How deep? Compared to a deep dark night, this poem is essentially about contrition...

A haiku...

Night

Darker than black
The depths of night
Night of contrition

HUES

If sad today, you could be happy tomorrow. These are just phases and they are meant to be.
What matters is that you keep your cool and not be jealous of some one you feel is 'better off'.
What matters is that you never be 'green'

HUES
Blue today
Pink tomorrow
Never green.

MAD

So love is mad and so are the people in it and for them everything else is madness...

MAD
Mad about each other and mad
And so mad at the world, so mad.
Pulled apart and fell to stand tall
But what did hurt wasn't the fall.

LOST

Gloom invading :P (please don't get all gloomy after reading this)

This one is a rather pessimistic poem I reconsidered posting many times. Somehow I personally like the imagery.

Also, should you choose to read between the lines, it does emphasise in a subtle way that *our fears our only the product of our mind*. This is one possible good message that this poem spreads. (Note how the 'frightening frigates' are actually 'clouds') ("power" of the brain?)

*Optimism is when something always shines within you like the sun that always shines no matter how many clouds invade the sky.*

Pessimism is when you surrender to feeble clouds, overwhelmed.

They do say wars are won depending on both attack and defence. However the subtle yet significant battles of life are more about how strong your defences are and what are the odds of you (your mind) getting overwhelmed by and surrendering to matters that in reality are insignificant.
(This also sums up the concept of 'moh' or 'delusion')

*When you do realise these 'matters' are all but insignificant, you do not succumb to the pressure your mind creates and do not get LOST in the puzzles designed by it*

*our mind is our greatest asset and yet our biggest enemy*!!!

LOST

When I was a wonder that I am not no more
Sun shone regardless beneath greys cold and sore.
Those feeble greys are now such frigates frightening
Across oceans of former skies, with rain and lightening.
Ecstasy now a distant feeling too far away to try
No more I know how I even thought I'd someday fly.
Buried beneath I wonder what. Buried what? Buried why?
No more I know how I even thought I'd someday fly.

STAB WOUND

What a massive effect does the undefined society has on us with its conventions and prejudices! This can only be realised if you look at it this way: most of us don't even realise we take our decisions such that they automatically concur with the unseen boundaries and unspoken commandments of this noble faced, beast, let's say.
God created life and life alone. Life is energy and vice versa. Everything and anything around us is a manifestation of this energy. Energies interact and propagate. Since when does energy rule (over each other)?
Where is our sense of tolerance?
Where is our peace?
Coming onto this poem: What happens when we teach our kids about fairy tales and perfect things, about believing in ourselves and our dreams and striving to achieve them no matter the risks, no matter the consequences and then impose society and rules on them? Is it not treacherous to not follow what we preach, hypocritical even? Is it justified for such hypocrisy to leave stab wounds or does the 'society' makes it lawful?
What is ironic, funnier even, is that these "rights and wrongs" vary from place to place and time to time. It is absolutely justified to have certain codes you wish to lead your life in accordance with. But, it is absolutely ruthless to impose them on others, to criminalise those who resist them and to judge them for it!
Is this not the most intrinsic level of slavery, with this dictator called society ruling over us all with rules it has made for its own pleasure?

In fears we believe in, we wish for our loved ones to not succumb to, yet somewhere down the line those fears take over us.
Those who are fearless, would rather fall, than never fly!
In fact, society makes criminals. Wounds sometimes hurt, sometimes fester and kill. However, a lot of times these wounds 'wind us up' with energy which is indomitable, pure, massive- a motivation that never dies.

STAB WOUND

Shards and stones of realities harsh
Stab and leave some sharpnels and scars
Wounded "wilfully" wound up with wings
In strains of restrains in hollows of 'things'
Soaked up in sorrow such joys you share
Yet hope for happiness and care to care
One flap of these wings and life is here
One flap two more and nowhere near

WW3

Happily living away in our bubble of comfort, we are not realising the state of War we are living through. It is cold, treacherous, merciless and brutal yet we fail to even recognise it...

WASTED

Those of you who know a bit about physics would know a 'vector'.
Effort, I'd say, is a vector quantity.
Magnitude as well as direction are important to determine the outcome of an effort.
Absence of effort cannot light up a lamp.
A feeble effort of holding onto a small piece of wood wouldn't save a person from drowning.
But the saddest of all scenarios is the one where a lot of effort is being wasted because of 'incorrect direction', so to say...

Wasted

In darkness, dwelled in a cave unlit.
In a sea of sorrow held on to a twig.
In days, awaited glorious nights.
In shiny armour, fought no fights.
Paradox of this earth, a silly soul,
Not at rest, without peace or goal,
Wastewater stagnant on soggy sand
A withered flower in wasteland
Wandering winds at speed of thought
Wasteful endeavour, a wasted shot
Wasted, breathless, uncomfortable
Wasted breath,  in all, unable.
