SUNFLOWERS

Yellow bright to ochre tan
Each year a sunflower adds
From farm fresh three,
Through twelve to fifteen.

Soon they shall but wither
Sordid so they seem
Perishing in yellow gaze of sun
Yellow sunflowers perishing.

Yellowing away slowly
Dry, yellow, fragile, withering,
Sad, hopeless and lost:
Sunflowers in various vases.

A take on life as it unveils, different for different people as well as different for different times....
